Frameless glass doors add a touch of elegance and modernity to any home. However, if the lock on your frameless glass door malfunctions, it can be a major inconvenience. While replacing frameless glass door locks may seem like a daunting task, with the right tools and know-how, it can be done as a DIY project.
Gather the Necessary Tools
Before beginning, gather the following tools:
– Phillips head screwdriver
– Flathead screwdriver
– Measuring tape

Measure and Mark the Position

2. Mark this point on the opposite side of the door.
3. Measure the distance from the edge of the door to the center of the lock hole.
4. Mark this point on both sides of the door.
5. Use a level to ensure that the markings are level.
Drill the Hole (if necessary)
1. If the existing lock hole is not in the desired position, you will need to drill a new hole.
2. Use a glass drill bit to drill a hole at the marked location.
3. Be sure to drill slowly and apply light pressure to avoid cracking the glass.
Remove the Old Lock
1. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws holding the lock in place.
2. Carefully pull the lock out of the door.
3. Keep the screws in a safe place for later use.
Install the New Lock
1. Insert the new lock into the door hole.
2. Align the screws with the holes in the lock.
3. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to tighten the screws until the lock is secure.
4. Ensure that the lock is facing the correct direction.
Test the Lock
1. Insert a key into the lock and turn it to unlock the door.
2. Open and close the door several times to make sure the lock is functioning properly.
